Children lead the way

A new outlet for fashionable childwear has opened in the town centre.

Kids Connection in Market Place opened in early December in premises recently vacated by Candies sweetshop. The shop sells fashionable clothes for children and continues a recent trend for unique clothing outlets in the town. During the year a number of upmarket clothing shops have opened in the town, including three menswear shops and a childrens shoe shop.

Change Of Address

Hairdressers Mr.Roberts closed their Green Dragon Yard premises on Saturday 23rd December 2000 to open in a new shop at 47 Railway Street on Thursday 28th December.

New Charity Shop

The British Heart Foundation open a new charity shop in Maidenhead Street soon. The shop is one of two units recently refurbished as part of the Green Dragon Hotel redevelopment, which included the provision of luxury flats in the floors above.
