Something Different
Work continues on transforming the former Guru Tandoori into a Thai restaurant named The Thai Rack, whilst premises in Salisbury Square are to open shortly as a contact lens centre.

A closing down sale is currently taking place at Hertford Lighting Centre in Railway Street, whilst Crafty Frames in Bircherly Green closed down recently.

Baroosh Opens

Baroosh bar in Fore Street
McMullen's new continental style cafe/restaurant/bar in Fore Street opened on Thursday 30th March. The bar is a new concept for McMullen's, offering food, coffee and a large No Smoking area. The Fore Street premises were formerly occupied by Barclay's Bank and the menu features:

  • Lemon Sole Fish Fingers (£5.95)
  • Own-Made Lamb and Rosemary burgers (£6.25)
  • Free Range Ham and Eggs (£6.50)
  • Chickpea, Feta and Freshmint Salad (£4.95)
  • All Day Breakfast Butties (£3.75)
  • Chicken Ceasar Wrap (£4.50)
There is an entrance policy plus people greeters at the door.

From Toys To Tanning

The former Jeremiah Jones toyshop in Fore Street has opened as a new tanning shop.

Other News

New Deli In Town

A new deli and cheesemonger opened at 7 Bircherley Green on Saturday 12th February 2000. The premises were formerly occupied by an accessories shop.

Sports Shop Closes

Sportshop Soccershop in Maidenhead Street closed on Saturday 13th February.

Braybrook's shop in Railways Street is closed due to staffing problems.

The former premises of White Lite windows has re-opened as a gift shop Catcus, selling such items as plants and occasional furniture.
