Hertford's bus station is at Bircherley Green, attached to the shopping centre. It is five minutes walk from Hertford East railway station. Local bus services are run by a number of independent commercial companies, including:

Other out-of-town bus services link Hertford with Stevenage, Bishop's Stortford (Service 351), the Lea Valley (Service 310/311) and Buntingford and Royston (Service 331).
Green Line 724 provides a cross-county link via Hertford to Harlow or Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, St Albans, Watford and Heathrow Airport.

PLUSBUS is a ticket that provides you with a simple, easy-to-use, bus add-on to your rail ticket and lets you travel on most buses within the local PLUSBUS area as many times as you like. Buy your PLUSBUS ticket in advance from any rail station and simply show your ticket on the bus and off you go!
The boundaries of the scheme extend as far as Waterford, Hertingfordbury, Bengeo, Horns Mill and the Pinehurst Estate. If you are visiting Hertford for the day, just add your bus travel within the PLUSBUS area to your rail fare for only £1.20. Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual fares are also available.
