The public enquiry in to plans for a quarry in Bengeo re-opens on Tuesday (23rd October) at County Hall.

The enquiry was adjourned in May following the late submission of a Health Impact Assessnment by the quarery applicants, just five days before the enquiry opened. The government's planning inspector adjourned the enquiry to allow time for opponents of the scheme to examine the report and prepare their response.
Hertfordshire County Council has twice refused planning permission for the quarry.
The quarry company, RJD Ltd; and a trust company representing the landowners - Gowling WLG Trust Corporation are appealing against the county's refusal to allow the quarry, which is just 400m from Bengeo Primary School.
Local residents have fought a fierce campaign against the proposals, winning the support of local councillors and the area's MP Mark Prisk.
The enquiry will run for a further three days, closing on Thursday (25th October).
