A planning application for 51 new homes on the site of a former garage in Ware Road was granted planning permission at yesterday evening's Development Control Committee (20th June 2018).

The proposal by Permisson Homes features 2 houses and 49 flats at 306-310 Ware Road. Parking for 102 cars is also provided.
The site has been derelict for a number of years, having previously been a garage and industrial units.
The original proposal was for 64 flats and 97 parking spaces, but concerns were raised about overdevelopment and lack of parking.
The new plans were recommended for approval by planning officers and councillors voted unanimously to approve the plans.
