A development of 68 new homes could be built in Mangrove Road if councillors give the go-ahead.

Cala Homes have submitted a planning application for 51 houses and 17 apartments on the green field site. 40% of which will be affordable. The houses will be 3-5 bedroomed, whilst the flats will be one and two-bedroomed. A total of 179 parking spaces will be provided.
The proposed development is opposite Hertford Cricket Club and allocated to housing in the council's recently adopted District Plan. The location is part of the Hertford Conservation Area and is also within an Area of Special Archaeological Interest.
Plans for the site featured at a public exhibition in October last year, where local residents were invited to give feedback on the proposals.
A decision on the scheme is expected before the end of the year.
