The We Are Hertford community campaign have submitted a public comment on amended plans to redevelop Bircherley Green shopping centre.

In a written submission to the district council, the group welcomed the additions made by developer Chase New Homes and expressed their eagerness to see the development begin. The group are also pleased that the designs are in keeping with the historic nature of the town centre and takes full advantage of the river front.
However, the campaign did highlight some improvements they would like to see, including:
The group noted that while buildings up to a height of five stories were approved by the Hertford Urban Design Strategy a consultation meeting with the Folly Island residents - who will be most affected by this - has not been agreed.
