Armed robbery at MacDonalds

A man escapde with a large amount of cash after threatening staff with a gun at the MacDonald's restaurant at Rush Green this morning.

Police were called just after 5.45am when a man in dark clothing entered the restaurant and threatened staff with a firearm while demanding cash. A large amount of money was handed over and the man left the scnere on foot.

No-one was injured during the incident.

A statement from police said: "Forensic officers are currently at the scene and officers are taking statements from the victims.

"If you witnessed the incident, or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of the restaurant, please get in touch with police."
