Aldi site works start next week

Thursday 11 July 2019

Work to bring a new Aldi store to Hertford starts next week, with demolition contractors beginning work to level the Gascoyne Way site.

Planning permission for the 13,500sq.ft store was granted by councillors last year but work has been held up by negotiations about the vehicle entrance to the car park and flood alleviation.

The site was previously used by the Consumers Association, who acquired it from local stationery company Creasey's Of Hertford, who built the offices and warehouse in the 1970s.

The store is expected to open in 2020.
