New paths to be opened in Panshanger Park

Wednesday 22 May 2019

Almost 5km of new footpaths are to be opened up in Panshanger Park next month, giving visitors greater access to the Mimram Valley.

The 4.7km of new paths will improve access from the south of the park and provide access to the Cole Green historic landscape.

The Mimram Valley path will also be opened to provide an additional east-west permissive route in the park through the lower valley to the south of the River Mimram.

Prior to the opening of the Mimram Valley path, landowners Tarmac will complete new fencing to protect the River Mimram.

The plans will also see the introduction  of areas for the recently introduced longhorn cattle and their calves to acclimatise to the park before they enter fields that are open to the public.

The new paths add to the 18km of paths already open to the public across Panshanger Park.

The new paths are planned to open on Monday 24th June.
