Hertford has been revealed as the 8th most expensive market town to buy property, according to a report by Halifax.

The report compared the average prices of property across England, with Hertford's figure coming in at £449,963, making it more expensive than Malborough in Wiltshire and Saffron Walden in Essex.
According to Halifax, market town property prices are £41,633 (17%) higher on average than elsewhere.
Hertford benefits from two railway stations with services into the capital, together with low crime and good schools.
