Election 2005:
Tories Increase Majority

Conservative MP for Hertford & Stortford increased his majority in the General Election on Thursday 5th May 2005.
Nationally, the Labour Party secured a third term whilst the Conservatives are fought to return to power after 8 years in opposition.
The Hertford & Stortford constituency has been represented by Conservative MP Mark Prisk since 2001 following the retirement of the sitting MP Bowen Wells. He was challenged this year by Labour's Richard Henry and the Liberal Democrat James Lucas.

The County Council elections also taking place on 5th May, with candidates standing for the 3 Hertford seats of All Saints, Hertford Rural and St.Andrews. All three are currently held by Conservative representatives.
