Water Tower Phone Mast Application

I live near the Bengeo Water Tower and have received a letter from TCI who are a company proposing to install 3G aerials on the tower for Vodafone. Does anyone know if anything can be done to stop this, are these things bad for you, and has anyone else been informed? I will be objecting just in case but please let me know your thoughts. Badger

Badger, There is a wealth of information on the department of health website, much of it based on government responses to the Stewart report in 2000, which investigated the health impacts of mobile phones and masts (the conclusions of the report were that there were no significant health risks as the radiation levels are well below those that would be considered unsafe - however, the debate, quite rightly, rages on.) Have a look at http://www.dh.gov.uk/Home/fs/en and do a search for 'mobile phone masts', you should find what you need. More information about this can also be found on the site I posted in response to another thread on this forum - http://www.dh.gov.uk/Home/fs/en has plenty of (high level) info and links.
