it was actually called Milkies! There's another kind at the Galleria - it's the new craze for kids etc. Probably will open sometime soon and shut quickly due to lack of trade and high rent and rates!!

I wish them all the luck in the world - just being realistic. Having traded in Hertford, all I can say is I am happy to be out of it, the rate of shops closing down is alarming to say the least. It's a brave person that opens in this climate in this town

I think if the council take enforcement action in this climate with all the empty units in town, they deserve to have a ghost town on their hands. I think the shop should be made to change their signage to more 'sympathetic' colours, but other than that, as long as they stick to listed building regs, fair play to 'em.

Grand opening this Saturday with Hertbeat FM radio guys in attendance. Will certainly pop in for a smoothie or a milkshake. Good luck to them - it might be just what this end of town needs - since demise of Scarboroughs tea rooms on Parliament Square [:)]

we tried to pop to Yum Yum late saturday afternoon, but it was full! So we didnt manage to get in! Are the waffles not available in the coffee shop? seems to be 2 distinct places? I hope to try out the waffle and the rest of it soon :)

They have just found the Apostrophes that are missing from the Hertingfordbury roundabout. Apparently the "Masters House" has lost some apostrophes along the way too.

This is clearly an oversight. Their website features the apostrophe, with the exception of a photo of the aforementioned door. http://www.mastershouse.co.uk Let's not forget that one of the directors is an old boy himself.

back on topic... we visited last weekend and were very disappointed. Tables weren't cleared, staff were far from friendly. we virtually got kicked out as we wanted to order coffees (in the cafe part) and a milkshake for my daughter. it was inferred we should really go and order that ourselves from the milkshake bar, although she did begrudgingly order it for us. the babyccino (sp?) i ordered for my son was boiling hot milk with a tiny bit of froth on the top, in a large, china cappuccino cup. Totally inappropriate. We will go back to the milkshake bar, but not to the cafe section. Shame, but in this day and age in Hertford where there are a plethora of cafe's to choose from, customer service needs to be spot on.

It never fails to amaze me why people actually think that paying over 2 pounds for a cup of coffee is a wonderful experience. Don't people socialise with other parents at home anymore with all their children?

I have to agree with James I was never taken out to eat as a young child but sill know the correct way to behave in resturants etc. at least I think I do. I never have undrestood the need to have very expensive coffee out unless you are a visitor to the area, surely it is cheaper and less stressful with or without children to drink coffee at home. I have only ever done it once in Hertford, I will not say where, and that was due to the fact I had time to spare between 2 appointments but no enough to get home and back again, but it is not something I would wish to repeat in a hurry, but then again I am a grumpy old woman...........[:D] Having said that I have had good reports of Cafe Yum so maybe you just got them on a bad day.

we went today for a family outing. Had an Oreo's milkshake, a Coco Pops milkshake and a banana & blueberry smoothie. Also sampled a waffle. All were nice and I congratulate the proprietor for a novel idea. I'm interested to know whether they plan to open the rest of the building to allow extra seating if the business takes off?
