BAR 11
Popped out for a drink on Friday and whilst walking past Bar 11 at about 8.45 I noticed that there wasn't a single customer ! Plenty of bar and door staff but no customers. The rest of the town was really busy, Hertford House Hotel, Baroosh, The Snug etc but nobody in Bar 11. The Six Templars first victim ?? [:(!] [:(!]

Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place, but even by McMullen-monopoly territory, Number 11 is expensive. Oh and it also has a crap selection of beer.

Not an issue if you prefer one of the many other drinks, which it does better than most pubs that do sell good beer. If you don't know what I mean, try ordering a vodka and tonic in a real ale pub.[xx(]
No.11's problem is they were always popular as a late drink venue. Now everywhere is.

Shunt, how can a Vodka and tonic be different in Bar 11 than a pub? Surely, it's Vodka and tonic water with ice & slice? If you'd said a cocktail I'd maybe understand, but not a short & mixer

You'd think so, but it's surprising how badly many real ale pubs do it. Insufficient ice, flat, warm tonic from a 2 litre plastic bottle, no fruit or stale fruit (sometimes even preserved fruit), wrong glass used........

Totally agree shunt. Also the terrible quality of the Vodka & Orange served in most pubs. The norm is to serve it in a half pint glass with a few cubes of ice & with a warm little bottle of concentrated OJ on top.
A much nicer V&O will be served in a long glass full of ice cubes with nice sharp refreshing OJ.
It tastes and feels like a completely different drink and it takes so little extra cost/effort to do.

Strangley I find myself agreeing with Shunt again.......There is nothing worse than a warm flat GnT or simular. The more ice and bubbles the better.

the two other Sugar Huts in Fulham and Brentwood look really nice, but isn't Bar 11 tiny? I can't see how they can replicate either of these venues in such a small establishment.
