Empty House?
Does anyone know who own's the old house in the car park of Wallace House Doctors surgury in Saint Andrew St (by the bridge that runs next to castle hall) or if it is ever used[?] It's such a beautiful building and I don't think I can recall anyone ever living there! It's a great shame that’s its lying empty.

by the bridge that runs next to Castle Hall? Wallace House is further up than that.....I know there are some flats built behind Wallace house? Do you mean the place next door?

Do you mean the one with the wood panelling on the side i.e. on the right as you head into the car park? If so, it was for sale just over a year ago, and needed *major* renovation. We were looking to move at the time and expressed an interest in it...until we saw where it was.

I have noticed a few period houses in Hertford which do not seem to be occupied. There are two small cottages on the corner of St Andrews St and North rd (opposite Hertford Antique’s old location ) one of which is used but the other is falling into disrepair. There is also a large house in Ware Rd (next door to the vets) which, until now, had been empty for some years. It's very sad that we have new flats/houses popping up where we don't want them when beautiful character properties remain empty. Obviously there are no where near enough of these individual dwellings to satisfy the demand, and maybe they are locked in red tape, but a shame never the less in my eyes.
