A neighbour was speaking with a communications / PR person from County yesterday. According to his contact by end of 2006 Eurostar will be coming into Hertford East! Something to do with extending the Stratford service and the Olympics. I was quite excited about it (Paris in 2 hrs), but he seemed quite negative because of the parking issue. So, Eurostar into Hertford - True or False, Good or Bad???

End of this year ONE Railway will be running shuttle trains from Broxbourne to Stratford. Do you think this may be what they meant ? Eurostar is a very very long train...

The tracks would also need upgrading or replacing. Not even our highspeed mainlines are capable of handling a eurostar at full throttle.

What about Hertford North? Haven't the rails and electricity supply been upgraded on the Hertford loop line (originally as a alternative for the once planned Eurostar services from the North of England via Hatfield). It certainly handles GNER trains as we have seen many times over the last few years.

They should add the extra line through Ware and have two sets of services. Of course they won't do that as they're trying to cut rail spending - though not paying it directly into TOC profits my be a good way of doing that.

Well having looked at the timetable it is quite clear that nobody at One has ever been a commuter...surprise surprise. One train to get to Stratford before seven am which stops everywhere is not what i call a service. And unless i misread the timetable to get this train at Broxbourne you have to get the 5.22 from HE. What a joke. Pathetic.

I was quite looking forward to the Stratford service, thinking it would help my commute to Canary Wharf. It transpires its still quicker to go to Liverpool Street, take the tube to Bank then take the DLR..... Every way i look at it its of no use - it will be a virtual ghost train. Its slow, very irregular and often you have to change and hang around at Brox. Imbeciles.

Drive. If you must take the train I would suggest HN to Old Street, Northern Line to London Bridge, Jubilee line to CW. Frenchie, we should start the One Are Idiots Club for all Can Wharf commuters.

Hertford North to Moorgate - Northern Line to Bank (one stop)...DLR to Canary Wharf...barring any hold-ups should take you about an hour and a quarter

To drive take the M11 and follow the signs to City Airport. turn right towards the City after the airport...will lead you right to can wharf.

Ewoowar - depends what time you are travelling really - in some instances it may be suitable to take the Stratford line, if you're not in a hurry. If i had a choice and it was a rare event....i would take the M11 Had 7 ticket collectors walking up the aisles asking to see tickets on the 5.50am train today....more than there were passengers
