Went down At. Andrews Street today and where the stone man usually is, there is now a gaping great hole in the pavement. I assume he was moved to stop him falling down the hole whilst work is being carried out. Wonder where is is though?? [:0]

They've only recently finished the work in St Andrew Street, so perhaps he'll return soon. He must have been pretty hard to move so he probably hasn't gone far - perhaps he's standing inside Beckwiths?

Perhaps he has been appointed chief executive of EHDC. He will probably be as effective if not more than the existing one and doesnt cost £180K per annum.

OK - I know where he is. He's on 4 wheels! in the yard at the rear of the shop. His departure was due to the works in St Andrew Street and he will be arriving back very shortly. Apparently the St. Andrew Street site are quite curious too. Off to fid the site [:)]

As Tigger said..........he was removed because of the street works. However he has also suffered a lot of abuse from passers by over the years so a return to this is questionable. A quest is currently on to discover his origin.............currently in Palmers Green.

I seem to remember a number of letters in the mercury re the colour of Beckwiths and Baan Thitiya across the street and the planning dept. said the orange could stay but BT's lovely red colour had to go. But surely we are straying off topic?
