Did anybody else get that foul stench that wafted across Hertford this morning? Any ideas what caused it?

Ware have apparently had the 'smell' aswell. Coupled with that and the Landfill pong - I'm glad I'm here [:)]

I noticed that pong on walking along Cowbridge after vacating the Old Cross Tavern last night (approx 11:30 p.m.). There was no pong at 10:00 p.m., so either the wind changed direction or the spreading was done after 10:00 p.m.

we had it up in bengeo this morning. smelt like cow dung. has gone now.

It was around West Street last night. Customers sitting in our garden complained. It seemed to start at about 9.30 pm. In fact the smell was around all night. Had to have the bedroom window shut, and again this morning. By 11.30 am it had gone. I think perhaps the farmers are spraying liquid manure on the fields somewhere. Not a pleasant odour at all.[V][V]

I noticed it last night coming back from the OXT and I can still smell it now as well. I assumed it was just the usual "farm smell" travelling south on the wind.

I live next to a field of cows and I am used to the smell, particularly at 'muck spreading' time. Yesterdays smell was not a good old country smell. It was more like sewage.

Thought my drains were blocked. at least now i know they are clean. didn't smell like any fertilizer i know.

I lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere for 8 years, it was defiantly muck possibly Pig muck. Yes stinky, but better than the dirty air of the city. I thought all you lot were pro organic??

On the Subject of Foul Stenches, Has it always smellt so bad around Salisbury Square/Gravesons?? It always smells like the drains are blocked. I notice that the drains are marked 'Foul Sewer' but even so should it always smell that bad? Is this a known problem?

Isnt car exhasust fumes carbon dioxide, rather than carbon monoxide.
