Paddling?
Hi
Does anyone know a good spot along any of Hertford's umpteen rivers where 5 or 6 year olds could safely paddle and chase sticklebacks? Seem to remember hearing there was a spot below the Warren...?
Any advice gratefully received!

Caught numerous little fish with my 4yr old (and a jar with bread) by the bridge opposite the Hartham tennis courts.

It's a short drive or cycle out of Hertford, but the bit of the Mimram just opposite Warrengate Farm on the B1000 (Back road to Welwyn) is idyllic. There's a shallow weir, a bridge, a rope swing and a shingle beach. Many kids take inner tubes to go over the little weirs on. It's a real beauty spot - part of Foyle's War was filmed here last year.

is that the part where people tend to part so badly on the edge on that bend? always gives me a heartattack!

Waterford Marshes also has a small area where you can easily paddle into the river Beane.
