Why delete the Olympic Post
It does have relevence to the local area. This is getting a bit much!

Whilst the news is excellent it's not a HERTFORD issue.
In addition there was no useful information posted or any substantial discussion. It was just another example of the forum being used as a chat room.

I was coming back earlier to dicuss the fact that I had been told that Broxbourne was to be used for the Aqua events. How sure are you that other sporting facilities around the area will not also be utilised. There are also suggestions of a hi-speed train link into Straford and Liverpool street, which I definatley think people would want to know about, this would possibly create a rise inthe local house prices, also revelent to this forum. Im sure that there are many other points people would like to raise that are also relevent to the Olympics and to this Forum
Granted that my initial reply was nothing to do with Hertford but I think maybe you acted a little too hasty this time.

and I was about to comment that a local Hertford boy is tipped to play Badminton in the olympics but hey we'll not get to say that now eh?

Have to agree (a first!) with many of the above particularly Victor (blimey!!) The win will impact on Hertford big-time. Just up the Lea Valley, house prices , transport, you name it... If there still is a Hertford Online in 2012; no when there is - guess what will be the biggest post for the years before. All that plus I’m pretty chuffed in any case – any relationship to the French discomfort (trying to think of a Hertford spin on that.. ) is entirely coincidental….

...and we can all rent our houses/flats out at ludicrous rates to tourists and disappear somewhere nice for 2 weeks (a la wimbledon every summer).
