Hertford Energy Now / HEN

Hi, surprised no one has mentioned this: http://www.hertfordenergynow.org.uk/ A scheme to install solar power at millmead and provide a return to local investors. Seems a good plan? Dan

We have a large flat roof on our factory in Hoddesdon perfect for solar panels, however we couldn’t make the sums add up to make it worthwhile. As they say, it’s about social investment, not profit especially with a 20 year payback time.

Louis, we at HEN are all convinced that we can make our project pay back - just as the dozens of other community energy projects round the UK have done so far. If you need help figuring out how to make your roof installation financially viable, contact us at HEN http://www.hertfordenergynow.org.uk And run it as a community project! FYI one of the reasons that makes the HEN project so attractive from a financial point of view is that it allows taxpayers to claim back 30% of their investment via the Enterprise Investment Scheme (and very possibly 50% via SEIS). We've now raised about £40K of the total and the share offer is open for another 2 weeks or so. Ben
