Computer Repair Scam Call

My OH had a call about 30 minutes ago at work, from a gentleman from 'World Wide Web Corporation', he seemed to think there was a problem with my OH's computer! There was a very short conversation, needless to say. I have just had, what I believe to be a similar call at home. Just a word of warning, in case anyone has any vulnerable relatives, who may be caught out!!

I love 'em. Act all surprised and when they tell you to do something on your computer say 'Ooh, there's a warning message come up' 'What does it say?' 'Theres some *insert derogatory term of your choosing* (not always very pc tbh) trying to scam you' Click.

This has been on the forum before. Any calls like that (etc) I say hang on a moment then just leave them talking to "dead air" till they get fed up, and hang up.

I know it was on the forum before, but I could not find it and was in a hurry, sorry Mrs T. The man who called me, put the phone down on me rather swiftly! My OH had a little conversation and politely told him that his information was incorrect. I just wanted to warn people again, as some people have relatives, who possibly might get caught out

Wasn't meant to sound like a critisism. Just saying let them waste their breath not ours.[:D]

Never hurts to remind people to beware and also anyone who is new to computers and may need warning! We have had 3 silent calls today from "Unavaliable" numbers and I suspect they could be something similar.
