no police station
A freind of mine went to do the right thing yesterday
and went to the police station to report a crime
and it would appear that Hertford the county town no longer has a police station, in the true sense. there is no desk with a copper behind it, just a phone on the wall. where you can speak to a civilian member of staff in a control centre in hoddesdon.
perhaps these cutbacks are needed to pay for David lloyds
vast salary and his team of helpers.
shocking I think. You ?

Indeed.
Mr Lloyd should be sat outside the "provocative police barracks" at a small desk (in all weathers) and made to address the concerns of any of us who wish to turn up and report a crime (or simply educate him as to our views on his costly contributions to our security so far).....

I wholeheartedly agree, I also think we should be allowed to give him an occasional poke with a sharpened stick.

Nothing new. My Mother lives in Leyton and the local police station was all set to be rebuilt and upgraded to be the next Paddington Green. Then, the cutbacks hit, the incident desk stopped being 24/7 to Monday to Friday 7-3 and now it has closed completely and it is up for sale.
