Apologies I think this has been discussed on here before, but I can't find it. Therefore can anyone tell me if it has opened yet, is it a takeaway that delivers? I can't find a website for it either. Thank you.

Had a pulled pork bun and a coffee on Saturday. The pork bun was excellent and the coffee was certainly the best that I have had in Hertford. I know that there has been some fears that it would be a bit ‘Nandosy’ however nothing could be further from the truth. They may even start doing full legs of lamb on a Sunday etc which would be great. Eventually they will be open until about 10 for a late night snack. Give it a go and support them as they deserve to do well.

I've just had a chicken baguette and a coffee from Galos and they were both really good. Nice place, friendly people and a quality, artisanal feel to the place - nothing like Nandos! I'll be going back again.

Odd that although the web site has been updated to reflect that it's now open there's no menu. Ah well I'll just have to walk round. An underhand introduction to health living perhaps?

Tried Galos for lunch today and I have to say that I wasn't greatly impressed. It is quite expensive for what we got and the service was really slow - worrying as they didn't appear to be particularly busy. What was worse was that we ordered a lasagne to take away - only to take it the short walk back to our office and it was cold, this was after waiting for 15-20 mins for it to be heated.... Don't think I'll be rushing back which is a shame....

There was a large lorry blocking the road near Galos today. I assume it was delivering to them as the name on the lorry was : Diaper Poultry. Now is it just me or is that literally a really sh*t name for a poultry company?

We gave this a go last night and ordered via their website for a home delivery. The food turned up about 30 mins later and was pretty good. The ribs were excellent, the slaw was good and the roast potatoes were also nice. Didn't try the chicken, but will next time. Certainly a cut above your usual fast food takeaway. Worth a try.

I went to Galos for lunch as I saw that the slow cooked pulled pork baguette was available today, and for selfish reasons I was considering saying it was horrible, in case it becomes too popular and demand outstrips supply, but I can't lie - it is delicious, especially with the pickle!

Went there for the first time last night. Lovely fresh food, reminded me of a similar restaurant with the same sort of set up where we used to live and that was always popular. We will use Galos reasonably regularly I think.

Got our Sunday Dinner from Galos last night (Ribs, Chicken, Garlic Bread, Potatoes, Green Beans, Coleslaw). They were a bit busy but it was well worth waiting for and (almost) as good as a home cooked dinner (with the excellent benefit of not having to cook it). The ribs were partcularly delicious but a bit spicy for Sarto Minor (who is a bit of wuss really). Thoroughly recommended!

Love this place. The chicken baguette is sort of a healthy alternative to KFC but nicer (in my opinion). The med veg were lovely and, as some have already noted, the coffee matches anywhere in Hertford. I'll be going back regularly, as all the food on the menu sounds good to me. I'd call it good value too, when you consider the quality of food you're getting. Service has been really friendly every time I've been in and I'm glad to say it has been busy every time as well. My wife was upset the first time we went in because there was no decaff coffee but by yesterday this had changed and decaff was available for her second visit. I think the owner reads this forum but if I was her, I wouldn't risk putting a comment on here, given the reaction she could get from some members. After all, look at the puerile comments about a supplier of chickens and pedantic scrutiny of the website to find errant cAPital letter'S and apostrophe's. We all know that some people can go into attack mode then put out a second post along the lines of "don't get the wrong idea, didn't you see the smiley, good luck blah, blah".

The coffee is Cuban I think I heard .. anyway it's very nice and the tiramisu is lovely. I'm looking forward to their Christmas menu :)

I'm unlikely to use this place because I like to either dine out or cook at home so high quality fast food/take-away isn't on my radar. But my foodie friend raved about Galos, particularly the 'slaw and the pulled pork and she knows her stuff so I'm posting that as a recommendation.
