The Quiet Man

Pleasant enough. Doombar for £3.50. Also London Pride and Tribute. Lagers include Estrella, San Miguel and Bud. Outdoor area out the back shared with Hertford House. Somewhat anacronistic to have a TV in a pub called The Quiet Man.

Agreed, as you say nice enough. Had a nice feel to it for the small amount of time that I was in there last night. We shall see how it performs.

Been in twice now. excellent contemporary decor, superb beer both Doombar and Tribune, and my friend said the Guinness was spot on. very friendly atmosphere and Landlord Matt very friendly. apparantly they had a pianist on Saturday night, and reports were that he was excellent. Will definately return, and will reccomend to others.

We too were in there Saturday night, it was a lovely atmosphere. 'Tony Tunes' is a clever man partially sighted and he can knock out a tune - all you do is put a few pence in his pint jug and if there is a song he doesn't know he listens to it on a phone then plays - really quite clever. Matt also put a lovely lady on the door so hotel customers couldn't sneak through while queuing and the back door was closed so no contact with HHH customers. Mat really is trying to keep it a separate pub not just an extension of the hotel. So far job well done!

It's like a pop up pub! We were in there for the first few piano tunes....not sure if the pub wants to be old or modern. Very unique and a welcome addition to Hertford. Prices, not sure as we don't go out that often...pint of Stella and a small red wine £9.00, seemed a little pricy to me.

Haven't been in yet but have heard many good reports about this place. Heard about the clever person playing the piano. Harpists on in there tomorrow afternoon!

Great night in the Quiet Man on Friday. Brilliant pianist, played non stop for a few hours and got everybody singing along. Estrella Damm on tap too - lovely!

Excellent atmosphere in there tonight. Loads of people really enjoying the piano sing song and beer in a totally safe feeling environment. Fair play.

Reminds me of a really cosy Prague bar. Decor and feel to it... Fair play to them. The tribute was indeed lovely, as indeed was Andy on the piano. Better half and I had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. To the degree of not making it to the '80's night' at the corn exchange....no great loss there ;) The changes the landord speaks of bodes well for the future. This is the sort of place that makes a town centre IMHO. Intertesting, welcoming and a refreshing beacon in the ever homogenising high st...

Any one been in for football ?? It would be nice to know what kind of crowd is in. Towns scream out for a venue where, shall we say 'more discerning' fan can watch a game without fear of incurring the wrath of some Stella fuelled, nuckle dragging missing link.. :) Strikes me as a place that may fit the bill...

yes I have for several games and yes it is a friendly banter, no aggro atmosphere, even when West ham beat Spurs 3-0...[:D] ( had to get that in)[:D]

I spent but 5 minutes in there yesterday as I was looking for my wife's scarf that she'd left the evening before and the feel of the place was good. Like a good pub.
