Robins nest
I have a robins nest in the garden, last night one of the fledglings made it to the ground, had to get it out of the shed so the parents hopefully could find it! Not seen him this morning, hope he is OK at least 2 more still in the nest but I believe this is normal! The parents are still feeding them.
Never had one quite so close and visible before! The parents are used to us up and down I suppose and don't seem in any way worried by us walking about!

Sadly marilyn, sometimes smaller garden birds only have the resources to feed two to adulthood and the third, the runt of the litter so to speak, is either kicked out by its brothers/sisters or the parents! So that the remaining two are healthy and have a good chance of survival.. This might have been the case here, I hope not but if you notice it around do let us know ..

They all fledged or were kicked out over the weekend and the way the first one was preening I don't think he was a runt. The parents are still around flying back and forth with food so hopefully they are tucked up somewhere while they get their "wings" so to speak! I think there were 4 in total. Hopefully in a few days we may see them again down by the bird table, it would seem they always come out of the nest a few days before they can fly...............will keep you posted!

We too have a baby robin in our garden, I discovered it in the undergrowth on Sunday, when I realised the parents were feeding it. I then found it in my shed on Monday, it was being well fed still. It seemed each day to be attempting to fly, finally yesterday I saw it fly away. I have not seen anymore babies around, but have been fascinated by everything I have seen. I did manage to take some photographs, albeit they are not good!!

Not seen mine around but the parents are still flying about with food so hopefully the babies are in the undergrowth somewhre. Leaving the nest in case they come back for a second brood................
