Hello
We are planning to get some decking and would live to hear if you have any recommendations. Any advice greatly appreciated!
Thank you

for fitters or the decking itself? For the decking norbury do a good range, they told me it was joinery grade timber (after I queried the price), which apparently is not the case with that from other DIY sheds. Not sure exactly what the benefit of that is though!

Thanks Codek2. For both fitting and supply. However, I am happy to source the decking if I can get good quality cheaper. I will look into Norbury - thank you!

I've decked in two gardens and bought all of my timber from Norburys. I've also installed wooden fencing and gates and bought those from Norburys too. I find them not at all intimidating even though I am not a tradesman. They are helpful and give advice. Their timber has always been good quality and not expensive plus they deliver at low cost.
I bought my postcrete and metposts for supports from other suppliers as they were slightly cheaper than Norburys at the time.
As long as you're not planning something too elaborate I think most decking can be done relatively easily. I was never trained as a carpenter or a builder but I enjoyed it so much that I was tempted to work with timber installations as a career after building a two storey childs playhouse in my garden for a fraction of what you would pay for a ready made one.
If you are looking for people to build decking for you then I'm afraid I can't recommend someone. Though if you'd asked a few months ago I'd have said me as I was 'in between jobs'.
