Early Morning 'Explosions'
Seem to have been waking early (6.15ish)in Bengeo recently to the sound of three or so 'explosions'
I live in a residential street, so can't quite work out what they are. Surely people don't have bird scarers in their gardens, and if it was a bird scarer in a far-off field, wouldn't there be more complaints, given the time of the noise?
Anyone fill me in on this?[:)]

These are to scare the pigeons on land near Watermill Lane North. I know the pigeons are a problem so a bit later in the morning would be much better.

Blimey! If I can hear them half a mile or so away, then the residents of Watermill Lane North and surrounding area must get pretty cheesed off with them, surely? Has no one complained at the noise intrusion?

I heard them too and assumed it was an early morning shoot.

They also had them going off in a field oposite Hanbury Manor at about 7:45 Sunday morning. Not heard them on a run before so my first thought was that they were on a timer and had not been reset for BST and maybe should have gone off at between 8-9?

The only shooting at this time of year will be for pigeon or rabbit. Most shooters would be aware that shooting at that time of day is not acceptable. I would suggest that as we have a local election looming now is the time to raise the issue with the candidates.
