Bees

I have discovered a bees nest under the lawn in my garden. I know Bees are in short supply so I don't want to just have them gassed but as the nest gets bigger they will pose a danger for inquisitlve kids. Does anyone know a Beekeeper or similar who would be interested/able to take them to a better home? Thanks.

I had a similar problem last year, i found someone in the local yellow pages. It wasn't in Hertford otherwise I would get you the number, but im sure you can find someone that is.

We had a bees nest removed last year, we used Harlow pest control, 01279 420679. He came out same day took the bees away. He was going to put them under bushes on the 414. Cost us £40.

EHDC will also put you in touch with someone local. I had a bumble bee nest in the garden a few years ago and the guy they put me in touch with persuaded me to leave it be (unlike honey bees, bumble bee nests remain small).
