Aggressive posting and personal comments.
We all have our moments and grievances. However persistent haranguing of other forum members despite their repeated attempts to pacify the situation by asking for restraint and abstenance from aggression exists with questionable motives. Anyone can get angry and smash away at a keyboard. Constructive contribution to a public forum is far more beneficial.
I think if someone asks for restraint then perhaps that is the measure of the situation. Leave them alone if they ask.........once, twice, three times. Otherwise you have to ask as to the purpose.
Repeated aggressive and personal comments made against me (http://www.hertford.net/yoursay/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=6950&whichpage=3) leaves me questioning motives. I, nor anyone else, should have to worry that their next post on this forum is countered by aggression. I am left wondering if I post again if the same person will negatively and unnecessarily and aggressively challenge me again. The persistent aggression and negative comments must be wrong.
As I said, if someone followed you down the road and three times you asked them to leave you alone you would expect them to do so. Three times I asked.
Hoist with your own petard, I believe.
I heard a quote a few years ago........."Those who can, do. Those who can't, bully".
I'm sure the person in question will seek to justify and pacify themselves by bashing away at the keyboard again. Perhaps the measure is, as this is an entirely new post, they have sought me out again..............and what does that say?
I hope this forum remains as a civilised and constructive contribution to Hertford.

Suggestion to Admin that this thread be locked and/or removed. Nothing constructive can come of it. I'm sure many others are silently agreeing!

Why do you say that?

With you 100% Ewoowar, the unnamed person is a troll with nothing better to do.

I agree that I agree and agree, silently, apart from a slight clicking of the keyboard.

Just a suggestion. If you have never knowingly yet met up face to face, just go & have a pint together. You never know you may have more in common than you think & I'd guess it is bettet than having a long spat from behind a keyboard........

Louis M - Agree with your comment (the Robin Hood one made us laugh), but no need to lock the thread in my opinion, let Ewoowar make his point. He is allowed to express his thoughts and makes a valid point.
Everyone should keep happy [:)]

Whilst I dont feel the "unnamed person"'s comments regarding your post were justified (I think you had every right to make the post and make others aware and personally I didnt see you did anything "wrong") I dont think it was agressive and he is entitled to his opinion. There was a similar situation with a previous post. This doesnt exactly constitute haranguing surely?

Good advice from cap pig. I had a little run in with our unnamed friend on the forum a couple of years ago. We met up for a few beers. My opinion of him changed immediately. He is obviously very intelligent but I also found him to be really warm hearted, friendly and likeable.
Get in touch. I bet you end up friends.

Being new on here, can I ask is it right that a member can suggest something has been done underhand without having proof. Asking so that I know what is allowed and what's not.

You might want to post that as a new topic as it does not relate to this discussion. [:)]
