Unknown Piston at Altitude
Can anyone identify this piston driven aircraft flying at altitude over Hertford?

I initially thought it might be a DC6 but can't identify the objects between the props.

P,S, Steve its a turbo prop not piston driven been up in a lot of these.

I don't like to get all geeky on the forum, but if this is a Hurcules or variant, it is not piston powered. It probably has Allison turbo prop engines, which have no pistons at all as they are turbine engines.

Yes, I made the piston judgement on it's apparent speed (or lack of it) and the deep drone of the engines.

Definately a Hercules. used to fly all over in these, god awfull instuments of torture.
still in use mainly from Abingdon and paras chosen plane to jump from because of the huge open ramp at the back with minimum turbulence for static lines.....
