Entertaining a 4 yr old this weekend.
My better half has deserted me for the weekend leaving me to fill our 4yr olds weekend with fun and games.
Any ideas outside the usual Adventure Castle and Van Hage Trains [?]

Willows farm
Manic Ceramics
Hartham park.........the park.........feeding the ducks, etc.
Invite one of their friends round........they will play happily together for a while.
The swimming pool.
Broxbourne boats (and the pool with the wave machine is next door).
Fort Knebworth
Cycle path to Ware (you don't have to go all the way!)

If you have a car then Aldenham Country Park in Elstree might be an option. They have a Winnie the Pooh wood, Adventure Playground, lakeside nature trail and Farm Animals. Our 2 year old loved it. Entrance is £4 per car.

2+ they have a trail hunt, face painting etc.When we went last year my son was 4 and he did archery!!!

Apparently the water level at Fairlands is very low and not much sailing is going on.

A bit further away but excellent value for money is Mole Hall Wildlife Park, near Saffron Walden. It's friendly, low key, nice little cafe (but happy for you take a picnic, it has picnic tables and a playground) and you can get up close to the animals. The butterfly garden is lovely too.

I agree re. Woburn. A bit pricey but good value..........especially in comparison to Whipsnade.

Sorry !, It went really well. Saturday involved flying a kite & cycling at Hartham and on Sunday we went out for a long afternoon lunch at Sword in Hand in Westmill which has a great playground and a massive trampoline !. Enjoyed the great weather and he was exhausted !
