Loud bang / explosion
Did anyone hear a very loud bang, sounded like a gas explosion, shortly after 10pm tonight. We're in Hertford North and it was very close, also lots of sirens going on??

We've had a couple of similar incidents on the A414 in recent months that turned out to be lorry tyre blow outs. Near hertford North you also have the bridge that could be hit.

Yes, very loud like a gas explosion. Heard lots of sirens just beforehand.

We can see the bridge and that is clear, there were fire engines just before and lots of police sirens afterwards. Maybe a fire somewhere??

I heard the explosion lastnight as I was locking up for the evening. I went to our attic room and could see a large fire over towards Waterford I assume it was from Golding hall way. I assume the the noise was a gas explosion from there although there is nothing in the news about it yet.

I live on the edge of Hertford on the Bramfield road side so must have been very near this explosion yet I heard nothing.
At my last house the telegraph pole in my garden exploded with a huge bang and light show yet I still heard nothing. I appear to be utterly oblivious to loud bangs.

I cannot believe I missed that! I too only live in Hertford North area near the cemetery in Bramfield Road. When the explosion happened at Buncefield, we certainly knew there was an explosion then! Good old Herts Mercury.
