Deforestation in Mead Lane
Does anyone know why they're chopping down all the trees between Mead Lane and the railway tracks?
I wish they'd desist because I'm finding the noise very distracting.

This is correct, one of the tree surgeons told me this before Christmas. His boss came over and told me that National Rail own the land and that it was being cleared for contamination tests as any sale to a developer for flats will affect the price.

British Rail (Residuary) actually. Completely separate entity from National Rail.
