Waitrose Petrol Promotion
Got vaguely excited this morning to see that Waitrose had jumped on the Petrol Promotion bandwagon (spend £50 - get 5p off a litre)
Sadly, it turns out to be for Shell petrol, and I can't for the life of me recall where the nearest Shell garage is (never look at the brand, just the price, or whether I'm desparate for the stuff)
Can someone enlighten me? ...and would it be economic to drive out of the way for this saving? Should you do it, enviromentally, anyway?

Arty lets put it this way you'll need a big petrol tank to make sufficient savings! St Albans and Borehamwood are probably the nearest.

Have to say when I first saw it I thought it was for Waitrose Petrol Stations - the only one I can think of is in Lincoln.....

There is a Shell garage at Letchworth which is consistently one of the cheapes around (I get emailed updates of petrol prices in the area) and we have family there so we are passing two or three times a week so it would work for us.
The email alerts are great, I can choose for which type of fuel (we have two diesels and one super unleaded) and for which areas. Signed up a few months ago and my OH fuels up the car accordingly whichever one he is passing. Driving specifically to petrol stations to save a few pence on a tank doesn't usually add up for me.

I think there is one in Colney Heath up from the Galleria, next to the Three Horseshoes. From what I remember the price was relatively cheap as well.
However, when I had a similar voucher it was 5p a litre off the first 25 litres only, unlike the Tescos/Morrisons offer which gives you the 5p off however much you fill up with........which annoyed me somewhat!!!

We got one of those the other day as well and had to look at the Shell website to see where the nearest one was! It was either the one on the A414 in Harlow just before you get to the M11 roundabout or Bishops Stortford

It is interesting to see Waitrose aligning with the standard promotions and retailing offerings of other supermarkets. I noticed they even had fireworks on sale a few weeks ago.
