Well, all of us readers who are in to dogging will know the dogging area at the bottom of Thieves Lane. A couple of caravans have been parked there for the best part of a week. Are they travellers? Are they doggers? Are they dogger spotters? Bit of buggar really cos that's put pay to any privacy we doggers used to enjoy.....

they are the birch green travellers. see other thread! they are excluded from birch green "greens" and their land in birch green via injunctions at the moment. they are presumably waiting for the injunctions to expire then they'll return to the greens.

I'm with Dennis. Winter's comment, without evidence, is defamation and being written and published, probably libel. Unless, of course, Winter can prove the allegation.

I think it was Winter as their post was removed and he/she got the slapped wrist! Remember you have to be careful as tongue in cheek comments (referring to my reading of the original post by Winter) can be taken very seriously by certain forum members and "discussions" tend to rapidly go down hill![;)][B)]

My objection is not to "tongue in cheek humour". A forum is a powerful tool in spreading rumour. What starts as a "joke", possibly without awareness of one's own prejudice in making it, can quickly snowball. "Discussion" is not publishing unfounded presumptions about the persons who are unknowingly being discussed. My own view is that tiger.1000's OP is plainly a joke, it works and is identifiable as such, the joke being the location and it's perceived use. Winter's follow up is targeted at specific persons. One is a joke, the other is a defamatory allegation. There is a difference.

Only repeating what I saw in The Mercury recently ! Apparently the bottom of Thieves Lane is one location, together with parts of Foxholes Industrial Estate and the car parks at Hartham. So if you decide to take it up, those are the places to see the action !
