Seems very odd behaviour. Two questions that spring to mind, Have you put your house on the market? & Have you done any new building work recently? The first it could be just some punter looking around & the second maybe someone from EHDC planning Dept. taking a photo to make sure it complies with the planning permission. Or maybe as newgirl said "Perhaps they think its the X Factor House", I'm assuming that you live at or near Hertford Heath.

It could be quoite innocent. I have been known to take photos of houses for people if their family lived in a house in previous generation. Having said that I do try and make sure I see someone and they know what I am doing and would never do it from inside a car.............. You can see most houses from outside on Google these days anyway.

Despite it being a little disturbing having someone take pictures of your house, it isn't illegal as long as it's done from public property. Worth reporting though, as Ewoowar has done, just in case the police know something we don't[:0]

As Forbes says there's nothing illegal about it, most houses can be seen and are visually in the public domain. Nothing too strange about taking photos of houses either, I have an interest in architecture and do it quite often. It is a bit strange and creepy doing it from inside a car though. Is your house of special architectural interest Ewoowar? [;)]

Trust me, there is no architectural worthiness in taking a photo of the ground floor of my 12ft wide, 1970 built house with the compulsory recycling bins outside obstructing at least some of the brickwork. Though there is nothing illegal about the activity it is somewhat concerning. They took a shot of the ground floor only, and my neighbours house was probably in shot too. By the time I had run down the stairs and made it to the road they had sped off and were 150 metres away. They didn't stop to admire the features of other similar houses in the road. I have no paranoia about people with cameras...........but when someone pulls up outside your house in the middle of a quiet, working day, winds down their car window and takes a photo of the front of your home whilst ignoring every other house on the same road it would be remiss to ignore it.
