CCTV on the B1000 at Sele Farm
Yesterday the police erected a CCTV unit on a post on the B1000 at Sele Farm. It's located between the roundabout at the top of Thieves Lane and the entrance to Bentley Road. It's on the left as you're travelling from Hertford to Welwyn.
Anyone know why it's there?

I would suspect it's something to do with the bloke found dead along the road. Sounds a bit like bolting the stable door!

Unless it's to see which cars use the road regularly at night and then go around to interview them to eliminate them from the investigation.

Quite possibly. However, now that this overt camera has been installed, if you had been involved in the incident it's unlikely that you'd use that route for a while.

The camera is not on the same stretch of road, judging by the reported location. It's to the east of the junction with Bentley Road, whereas the accident happened 500m to the west of the junction. And do we know if it's a police camera or a County Council camera?

It looked very much like a policeman when I drove past yesterday afternoon.Maybe they're trying to catch the loonies who overtake on the wrong side of the bollards a few yards further on.....?

tiger's description of the location is slightly incorrect as it's beyond the Bentley Road junction, about 50m to the west..
