Mill Road

Apropos of nothing really I noticed on Friday that they have finally started knocking down the buildings at the Mill Road depot. I didn't realise how large the site was until viewed from the perspective of the bridge over the weir at Hertford basin.

Absolutely. Although can't help feeling a bit sorry for the people who live on the boats who will now live in permanent shadow. I've checked the link can't seem to find anything on the Mill Road development.

There's an item about it here - http://www.hertford.net/issues/2004/housing2406.asp - although it needs updating.

Good lord they were right to block the original plans. What a hideous building, how did they think they could get away with that? It looks like an extremely low rent Halls Of Residence. I'd have banned the developers from re-submitting and found some one else purely based on the insult of the original proposed plans. The river front flats should at least have some balconies.
