Poundstretcherrrr
I joined the queue to get in there today and managed to get the last basket available.
I felt guilty so I bought some toilet rolls.

I went in on Saturday morning and quite frankly, was impressed with the range and the prices. The staff member that I spoke to was most polite and friendly. I gathered that it had been a hectic time setting up and filling the shelves in the short time available but I still got a smile. Its one shop that is not empty and looking delapidated!

James 007 purchased toilet roll's well done James 007 for supporting the store. May I ask members of the forum if you will be purchasing goods from the store?
I have spent £170 on various items since the store opened.
Dare I say those folk that complain about empty shops in the Town are the people that shop on line or out of Town.
Personnaly I think it stocks a excellent range of goods and good luck to Poundstretchers in the Town.
I understand Poundstretchers is not to every 1 s taste or style but at least 2 other forum members and my self are not twitching our noses as we pass the store, or is it a case of I do not want my Neighbour to know I have been to Poundstrechers? [^] [:D]

Agreed, the range is very good. We went in there on Saturday and ended up buying a kids table and chairs after my two & half year older daughter sat in the window display one, with her teddy in the other chair, waving at people for 20 minutes!
I presume they've got their PDQ machines working now as it was cash only on Saturday?

I haven't been in there yet but I am planning to. I have never been to a Poundstretcher (I live a sheltered life [:D]) but had a quick look at there website to see what sort of things they do. I was very impressed, looks like just the sort of thing we need in Hertford.

The range is pretty good - they have lost the CD department, but gained a random selection of Groceries.

I was pleased to see that they seem to have staff there who used to work in Woolworths.

Retaining the existing staff is a lot cheaper than recruiting, especially if you want to open immediately and start making money. In all probability the staff came as part of the deal with the administrators.
