A Statement From Admin
The Discover Hertford Online Forum is provided as a means for members to discuss local issues and events.
No-one has an automatic right to use this forum. Everyone who is a member here is a guest of the site operator and as such is welcome to use the facilities provided as long as they are polite, honest and contribute meaningfully to discussions.
However, what I am not prepared to tolerate are people who use the board to pursue their own personal agendas. People who manufacture controversy and present conjecture dressed up as fact and then manipulate the resulting discussion and speculation for their own purposes. Such people are abusing the hospitality of the site operator and will be asked to cease posting. If they continue to post then they will be banned.

Hi, Just read the reply from Dawn. Just thought it sounded like a good pub, local and friendly. I am thinking of moving to West Street and would feel happy going out to a local that has been recommended. I don't understand why these posts have been removed.

I'm sorry if you think that your post(s) have been unreasonably removed.
It's always a difficult job moderating a board like this, but at times I have to remove posts that are part of a private conversation and contribute nothing informative to a thread. Imagine that you are a visitor to the forum simply reading the posts in hope of enlightenment, rather than listening in on a conversation.
The bottom line is that this is a discussion forum, not a chat room, and sometimes I have to make difficult decisions about what is useful and what is just idle chatter between members. I don't always get it right and often it's a close call.
Again, apologies if you feel that your post has been unreasonably deleted.

Thanks for the response. It was not a personal reply - I use my 'phone and EMail for that. I understand that you do have to make a decision on things such as this. Thanks again [:)]
