Old School in Dimsdale Street
Does anyone know what the situation is with the old school behind the United Reformed Church in Dimsdale Street? It's been derelict for years. There also appears to be some serious subsidence in the small playground.

I seem to remember they is some sort of legal paper on it that it can only be used for certain purposes so makes change of use difficult. Peter Ruffles knows if I remember I will ask him.

I have often thought it was a pity it could not be used for some purpose.
It is a shame to see it in such a sorry state.

I asked Peter and he says there are some problems with it.
It was a "British School" which obviously has some special significance and did have three owners the Terr Army, Ed Authority and Church. He belives now it is just the Ed Auth and the Church. Also the reidents of the street are reluctant to have it developed as they may loose the parking on the old playground which won't help. No other details I am afraid .
I hope I have that correct I was trying to write down everything he was telling me.
He id say it is not listed though.

Peter is correct, it is not listed.
A number of buildings around it are, the church, the old motorbike shop, properties on Cowbridge and Dimsdale Street, but not the school.
It is bizarre. Usually a little Googling will bring up references to the school but there is hardly anything except a few on this forum. A time and place forgotten.
