Dance/Ballet Lessons
I hope this is allowed but if people are looking for recommendations for dance and/or ballet lessons then I can highly recommend Carter School of Dance. They now have a website: www.carterschoolofdance.co.uk

As the website in question is designed by Spanner Designs and this is your first post you impartiality may be questioned.

Well spotted, but I honestly am just a customer and have no interest in the business whatsoever! [:)] I did build the website as a favour and what prompted me to post was that when you google the dance school a Hertford forum came up but with old contact details for the school.
I am a satisfied customer and as such you may question my impartiality, but I am just a customer and a Mum - honest guv.

hmm, suggestion for the website - make it clear what ages the classes are suited for!
i.e. do they do anything for the little-uns? Does anyone know of a dance school for little ones in hertford? I found what looked like a great place for kids in hertford - but turned out to be hertford in USA, doh! Was very disappointed!

Thanks for the suggestion codek2, I will pass it on to the school. If it helps, their classes go all the way from Nursery Ballet (which I believe is from about 3 and a half) right up to Adult.
Sorry to sound vague on the little' uns but my DD didn't move to Carter until she was 7 so never did the Nursery/Pre-Primary or Primary ballet there. But they certainly do cater for very little ones.
Yes, it would be a bit of a trek to Hertford in the US just for dance lessons! [:)]

lol! Maybe just a little. Might be worth contacting Mrs Crowley though as I'm not 100% sure what age Nursery ballet starts. I only know when my daughter started it was 3 and a half, but that was at a different school. [:)]
Also, the school might have a waiting list so it might be worth putting your daughter's name down.
Good luck! [:)]

codek2 - try Georgina Pay - takes little 'uns from 3yrs old - classes in Watton at Stone, and Hertford too I believe. 01920 466410/07852 675313

Hi codek2
Spoke to Mrs Crowley today; Nursery Ballet starts at age 3. Uniform not compulsory for Nursery ballet - just clothes that your little one can move easily in.
Mrs Crowley said you are most welcome to phone her to discuss.

Yes [:)]
Would be worth phoning before your little one is 3 though in case there's a waiting list.
In the meantime, I can recommend "How to be a ballet dancer" which was on video when my DD was little, but is now on DVD. My DD absolutely LOVED watching it (I think it wore out in the end!) and it made actually starting classes all the more exciting.
