Virgin Media broadband problem

Hi, Just wanted to check whether anyone is having any problems at the moment with Virgin Media broadband? My wife rang me at work to say that "the internet keeps going away, then coming back", but VM's website reports no current problems. Thanks.

Mine appears to be fine, currently running as fast as normal (Folly Island/town centre)

I had one incident the other day where it dropped and I had to reboot the modem but apart from that it's been fine (SG13). However, the TV on Demand has been almost impossible to use for the last couple of weeks and that is purely to do with contention (IMHO) so this could be affecting some broadband as well.

Their website does state there are problems with the TV service at the moment. Broadband all seems fine again now, though.

Other users. The more people logging on via the same local hub the thinner spread the available bandwidth for everyone becomes. Ever noticed how your broadband slows down when all of the kids get home from school for example?

...yes I agree - my virgin broadband has been OK but I daresay this is the busiest period for internet shopping etc, I am annoyed about the TV on Demand though - I have rung them twice about it but I guess nothing will happen if it is an area wide problem.

Ringing them? That's very optimistic! I gave up on that years ago. When TV on demand comes up with the error just ignore it and keep pressing until it does work (or reboot if it hangs).
