Destruction Of World War 1 Medal Records
How is this thread deemed non-suitable for this forum? I would class local family history a valid topic for the "Community" section of this forum. The thread started by spitfire could seriously affect those of us who are researching our family history.

Totally agree with Johnon this one. I admire the Admin's editorial stance on most subjects but this one is, as far as I can see, a very valid (& controversial) topic for Hertford Online Community - just look at our war memorial! Any other thoughts?

This is not specifically a Hertford issue, it is a national one.
I left the post up (as opposed to removing it) because I thought it may be of interest to some people, but I wouldn't want a discussion about it for the reasons stated.
