Another shop opening?
Are the rumours of a Hi-Fi shop opening in Old Cross true?
Will there be a large, shaggy dog in the window, or is that not mandatory these days? [:)]

I have no idea if this is true - but would be great to have a Hi-Fi shop back in Hertford. Would be very surprised though as much like record shops, Hi-Fi shops are a dying breed. Could be a shaggy dog story !
Youngsters are generally happy with their Ipods. Very few people are in the market for quality seperates these days. Also Ebay means there is a ready market of cheap new and secondhand stuff but a few clicks away.
As a matter of interest is the rumour that the Hi-Fi shop is going back where Ultimate Audio were?

I remember that dog in the Old Cross Tavern with its master once. It went ape when some Morris Dancers came in; it seemed it disliked people wearing hats.

An article in this weeks Mercury says there are plans from a Little Hadham councillor to open a high end audio-visual shop on Old Cross.
Looks like it is the empty interiors shop.
He has applied for and illuminated sign but the council have doubts due to the conservation area.
He already operates an on-line store

I see from the mercury that he's had to stop due to being unaware of the listed building requirements; still he's not one to let the grass grow underneath his feet!

Its the leaf clearing aspect that I find particularly bemusing - prepare for a few more stories of Hertford North, etc. getting flooded when the rain can't drain due to blocked drains.
