Unusual aircraft over Hertford
I was at Hertford Bus Station today, just before 3pm when an unusual aircraft flew over. It had small wings at the front with the main wings to the rear. Gave the appearance of an aircraft flying backwards! I'm sure I have heard of it before, but can't place it.

You saw it, can describe it, are sure that you have heard it before but can't place it.
That was a Chinook. The second one flew over minutes later.

I may not know what the aircraft was, but by the very description I gave anyone with the slightest knowledge of aircraft would know that it was not a Chinook, which is a rotary wing aircraft, i.e.Helicopter.Chinooks, which are usually operated by the military, often overfly Hertford. This was in no way, shape or form, anthing like a Chinook

``the aircraft design with the wings you describe is called a Canard. They are generally small self build, kit or small manufacturer aircraft.

Likely to have been my friend's Long EZ. He's based locally and flies it around a lot.
