hope it does well as any shop is better than an empty shop... with the obvious exception of a poundland type store .... although 'computer shops' generally struggle to compete with the likes of PC World et al.

not necessarily true. I would rather take my PC/Laptop to an independent than PC World any day. At least an independent might know what he's doing with a repair. Not that I'd have to seeing as I've worked in IT for 15 years anyway :)

There was a computer shop at one time just over the road from there next door to what was Pearces bakers, it is now a ladies clothes shop, can't think of the name. Hope they fair better than that one did don't think it was there very long. Good luck to them.

So has any 1 taken there PC to be fixed and what was the price? I have a laptop that needs fixing I think its a software problem or a virus of somekind its never worked properly since the 22nd August 2009 so I think its about time I have it repaired. [:(]

The shop would probably have to have it for a few days before they could fix it and then the owner would have to go back and collect it and pay. Therefore IMHO it's way too soon to be expecting feedback on their repair service.

I recently paid over double that to have someone come round and sort out a particularly nasty virus. In the end he had to reset the whole computer to the factory settings. £40 sounds pretty reasonable in comparison.

Hi All I just ordered a new computer for work from the computer shop, Adam the owner was really helpful and obviously knows his stuff. I didn't realize but this is Adam's second shop, he started the business 6 years ago with his first shop in Wymondham Norfolk and commutes every day! I will report back on the quality of the system when delivered, but I have every confidence in it and I am also sure the shop will be very successful in the town. Another recommendation from me. They know their stuff and don't overwhelm you with jargon. Bought a couple of big hard drives from them and their prices are competitive with other online retailers too. Will definitely use again.

Gemma the linked thread does have a link to one of the guys who used to work there who now offers a repair service; can't recommend/not recommend him as I've never used his services - just for information.
