Pleeeease!
We had the latest edition of Hertfordshire County Council's PR magazine, Horizons, drop through our door yesterday.
On page 20, there is a competition:
'Hatfield House can be found in which county?'
A) Cambridgeshire
B) Hertfordshire
C) Buckinghamshire
Anyone got any ideas?
And has anyone got any ideas as to why our community charge is being wasted in this way?

Does it require you ringing an 0800 number for a £3 charge I wonder ? because if it does I think its a great idea !

I think you mean an 09xxx number and the maximum permitted rate is £1.50/m.
0800 numbers are free to contact.

More to the point , what does it say about the recruitment/tendering policies of the council when they appear to be employing someone with the Marketing nous of a six year old who has expressed an interest in PR.
Whether we actually need to be marketed to, when we are rather captive council tax payers is another matter.....[:(][:(]

I could be wrong, but I think there is some legal requirement that to give out prizes you have to have some sort of test of knowledge -- you cannot just pick out a winner from returned names alone.
If you look at lots of competitions the qualifying question is usually pretty dumb.
